Welcome to GFAI Energy, an Illinois not-for profit corporation that provides energy solutions for grain elevators and related entities. The 2007 electric deregulation in Illinois has presented the grain industry the opportunity to purchase energy as a large group and realize cost savings. Please take your time and review this website to find out if your company can benefit from joining GFAI Energy.
The GFAI Energy Consortium has been formed by the Grain and Feed Association of Illinois for its members and related agriculture industries. The GFAI Energy Consortium board is made up of member participants to take advantage of opportunities by jointly purchasing electricity and natural gas.
GFAI Energy will provide participant benefits through consolidated, state-wide electric and natural gas purchasing and related services for agri-businesses. Working closely with Latham and Associates, its Energy Advisor, GFAI Energy is designed to make it economically and administratively feasible for agri-businesses to immediately participate in electric and/or natural gas supplies to lower energy bills.
Agri-businesses that are interested in GFAI Energy participation are encouraged to seek more information by contacting Jeff Adkisson at (217) 787-2417 or through the Grain and Feed Association web site at www.gfai.org.
